About Our Pittsburgh CPA Firm
Myers, Patsy & Associates is a Pittsburgh CPA firm built on a simple idea: the best financial advice comes from people who’ve actually sat where you’re sitting. Our partners bring decades of combined experience in both public accounting and private industry — meaning we’ve been the CPA across the table, and we’ve been the business owner staring at the numbers, trying to make the next decision. That perspective shapes everything we do. We’re team-focused, hands-on, and committed to giving you financial guidance that’s clear, practical, and grounded in real numbers — not guesswork.
As Certified Public Accountants licensed in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, our team combines rigorous credentials with real-world business experience. We’re members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and we hold ourselves to those standards on every engagement.

Our Philosophy
At Myers, Patsy & Associates, we’re dedicated to helping business owners and their companies achieve financial success — and the lifestyle that success is supposed to make possible. With decades of combined experience in both public and private industry, we bring a rare perspective to the table: we’ve been the outside advisor, and we’ve also sat in the owner’s chair. That means we understand the day-to-day realities of running a business — personnel issues, recruiting, hiring, growth strategies, financing and banking, cash management, inventory control, and insurance and risk management — because we’ve managed them ourselves, not just advised on them from a distance.
We’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of business, and we know the pitfalls that business owners can fall into when they don’t have the right numbers in front of them at the right time.

We believe you have to know where you stand financially, all the time, in order to get where you want to be. That starts with timely, accurate financial information — a clear picture of your business — followed by practical advice that helps you make informed decisions and build a real plan for where you're headed. Failure to plan is planning to fail, and it's difficult to make good decisions about what's next without first knowing exactly where you stand today.
In Memory of
Joseph P. Myers, CPA
Founding Partner
Myers, Patsy & Associates was founded in June 2004 by Joseph P. Myers, CPA, and the philosophy that guides our firm today is the same one he built it on: know where you are, know where you want to be, and keep it simple, practical, and under control.
Joe brought more than three decades of experience to every client relationship, having served as Chief Financial Officer for a multi-plant valve manufacturer, an automobile dealership, and a multi-building commercial office park, as well as director of internal auditing and controller for a six-unit department store. His public accounting background included time as a senior audit manager with one of the (then) Big Eight firms and as manager-in-charge of a regional accounting firm’s Columbus, Ohio office. He also served as Vice President of consulting services for a Midwestern consulting firm.
Joe was a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Beyond the firm, he served as President of the Carnegie Community Development Corporation and President of the Southpointe Connections Chapter of Western Pennsylvania BNI. He was a 1979 graduate of Duquesne University with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting.
Joe’s legacy lives on in the way our team approaches every client relationship — with honesty, hands-on attention, and a genuine commitment to helping business owners succeed.
Meet the Team
Michael D. Patsy
CPA, MST
Managing Partner
Michael D. Patsy
Michael brings a rare dual perspective to every engagement: he’s worked as a Revenue Agent with the IRS, led as Tax Manager for a large regional CPA firm, and served as Director of Taxation and Internal Controls for one of the largest privately owned title and settlement companies in the country. Having worked in private industry himself, Michael understands what it’s like to sit on your side of the table — not just the other side of ours.
Michael works with partnerships, S corporations, limited liability companies, non-profit entities, sole proprietors, and individuals, serving service companies, manufacturers, e-commerce companies, oil & gas service companies, and more. He has extensive experience representing clients before the IRS and state tax agencies.
A resident of Cranberry Township since 1991, Michael is active in his community as a former board member of the Cranberry Area Chamber of Commerce and a charter member and past president of the Cranberry Township Sunrise Rotary Club.
Michael is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He earned his BS in Accounting from Penn State University in 1988 and his MS in Taxation from Robert Morris University in 1997.
Michael’s approach is built on integrity, exemplary service, and professionalism — helping clients sleep better at night with timely, well-thought-out solutions to complex tax compliance issues. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with family and cheering on the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.

Partner
Kimberly D. Wetzel
Kim began her career in 2005 and joined Myers, Patsy & Associates in 2019. She specializes in assurance services — audits, reviews, and compilations — for closely held businesses, local governments and agencies, and not-for-profit organizations. Kim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.
Before joining the firm, Kim served as Controller for Propel Schools in Pittsburgh from 2015 to 2017, where she oversaw audits for eight charter school entities and one foundation, and managed the implementation of two new ERP systems. That experience gave her a firsthand understanding of the strain an audit can put on office staff and resources — insight she brings to every engagement to keep the process as smooth as possible for clients.
Kim is a member of the AICPA, PICPA, the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials, and the Government Finance Officers Association. She also serves on two PICPA committees: the Pittsburgh Chapter Executive Committee and the Women in Accounting Committee.
In addition to assurance work, Kim provides tax services for individuals, closely held companies, and not-for-profit organizations.
